Budget Process
Weber County's budget year goes from January 1 to December 31. The Budget process for the County begins in August of each year. The announcement of public hearing on the annual budget is published in the Standard-Examiner newspaper, and the public hearing is held in December. The Commissioners make final adjustments to the "Tentative Budget' after the public hearing. In mid December the final budget is adopted by a resolution of the County Commission. A copy of the budget is certified by the County Auditor and filed with the State Auditor within thirty (30) days of adoption. A certified copy of the budget is available for public inspection in the County Auditor's office.
Ordinances
dopted by the County Commission. Ordinances usually create, amend, repeal, or supplement sections of the County Code; provide zoning specifications; appropriate County money for specific purposes, etc.. Following the introduction of a proposed ordinance the Commission may wish to set a date, time, and place for a public hearing, or may vote to enact the ordinance. Ordinarily the public hearing is scheduled two weeks after the initial proposal unless Utah law requires a longer notice period. The County Commission votes on the ordinance after the public hearing has been held.Resolutions
Resolutions are formal expressions of approval, opinion or intention of the County Commission regarding business matters brought before it and which do not require adoption of an ordinance.
