Weber County Assessor - Active Duty Military &
Disabled Veterans

Weber County supports our active duty military and disabled veterans, and offers tax relief programs to assist them. In Weber County, tax relief programs are managed by either the Assessor’s Office, or the Clerk/Auditor’s Office.

Active Duty (Assessor’s Office)

If you are an active duty military member, you may be eligible to receive tax relief on your vehicle registration.

To qualify you must be:

  • The titled owner of the vehicle, and either:
    • Stationed in Utah and claiming residency in another state. A Current LES will need to be provided with the Utah Vehicle Registration, or,
    • A Utah resident stationed out of state, with a vehicle having a current Utah Registration that is being used in support of your military assignment. A letter from your commanding officer stating this fact, a current LES and the appropriate State’s safety and emission paperwork will need to be provided.

To receive tax relief:

  • If the vehicle has already been registered for the year, the required documents can be emailed, faxed, mailed, or hand-delivered to the Weber County Assessor’s Office. Please include your current phone number, email, and mailing address. Once received, your refund request will be submitted.

    Office: 801-399-8572
    Fax: 801-399-8308
    Email: assessor@co.weber.ut.us
    Address: 2380 Washington Blvd #380
    Ogden, UT 84401

  • If the vehicle is due to be registered for the year, take the required documents to the Department of Motor Vehicle at the time of registration. If applicable, the county age-based fee will not be charged. In this case, you do not need to submit any documents to the Assessor’s Office.

Active Duty Deployed (Clerk/Auditor's Office)

If you are on military orders that take you outside of the state of Utah for 200 or more days in a year, you may qualify for tax relief on your primary residence.

Details of the Deployed Veteran Tax Relief program can be found here under “Deployed Military Exemption”:

Disabled Veterans (Clerk/Auditor's Office)

If you are a Veteran with a disability letter from the Veterans Administration, you may be eligible for tax relief on your personal property (vehicles, trailers, etc.), and on your primary residence.

Details of the Veteran with a Disability Tax Relief program can be found here under “Veteran with a Disability Exemption”:
Tax Relief Details

Widow/Widower, or Minor Orphan, of a Disabled Veteran (Clerk/Auditor's Office)

If you are the unmarried surviving spouse of a deceased disabled veteran, or of a veteran who was killed in action or died in the line of duty, you may also qualify for tax relief under the same program as for Disabled Veterans.

Please see the Disabled Veterans section (immediately above) for more information.
