OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF WEBER COUNTY
Tuesday, January 5, 2010 - 10:00 a.m.

In accordance with the requirements of Utah Code Annotated Section 52-4-7(1)(d), the County Clerk records in the minutes the names of all citizens who appear and speak at a County Commission meeting and the substance “in brief” of their comments. Commissioner Bischoff moved to approve the consent items, holding the minutes; Commissioner Zogmaister seconded, all voting aye.
E. Action Items:
1. Appointment of the Commission Chair and Vice Chair for 2010
The Commission has traditionally rotated the Chair and Vice Chair annually.
Commissioner Zogmaister moved to appoint Commissioner Bischoff as the Commission Chair for 2010; Commissioner Dearden seconded, all voting aye.
Commissioner Bischoff moved to appoint Commissioner Zogmaister as the Commission Vice Chair for 2010; Commissioner Dearden seconded, all voting aye.
2. Resolution adopting the natural hazard pre-disaster mitigation plan as required by the federal disaster mitigation and cost reduction act of 2000 by Weber County - Resolution 1-2010
Lance Peterson, County Emergency Management, stated that in November 2009 a copy of this plan was presented to Weber Area Council of Governments. This plan was developed by the Wasatch Front Council of Governments through a grant from FEMA and the State. FEMA approved this plan. It addresses general mitigation strategies for earthquake, dam failure, flooding, severe weather, slope failure and wildland fire. Mr. Peterson said that this is a non-binding resolution.
Commissioner Zogmaister moved to adopt Resolution 1-2010 adopting the natural hazard pre-disaster mitigation plan as required by the federal Disaster Mitigation and Cost Reduction Act of 2000 by Weber County, Utah; Commissioner Dearden seconded.
