County Boundary
Weber County was originally established within the locally recognized “State of Deseret” in 1850, the Territory of Utah was established later that year with the 1850 Compromise. The County boundary was revised several times over the next 30 years, with the southern boundary being bounded by the main channel of the Weber River in 1855, the northern boundary running through the hot springs and up the spur range to the summit (Willard Peak) in 1862, the eastern boundary extending to the head waters of the Ogden River in 1862, the southeastern boundary being bounded by the ridge between Ogden Valley and Morgan Valley in 1866, and the western boundary extending to the northwest corner of Davis County (in the Great Salt Lake) in 1880 by Territorial Legislation. Only minor adjustments and clarifications to the county boundary have been made since. (http://www.riversimulator.org/Resources/History/UtahCounties/HistoryOfWeberCounty1996RobertsSadler.pdf)
The county description was codified in 1898 after statehood and annotated in 1953 as UCA 17-1-32 and in 2000 as UCA 17-50-233, which was repealed in 2003 by SB 80. From 2003 to current the Lt. Gov. Office provides the county boundary per UCA 17-50-104(2). County Boundary exhibits can be found at https://municert.utah.gov/.
